    This study aimed to determine the use of the number of somatic cell and of bacteria in milk and California Mastitis Test for the detection of mastitis in PE goat. 425 samples of milk from PE goats are kept in individual cages and milked twice daily study used in this study. Before milking, goat udder was cleaned and greased with antiseptic (alcohol 70%) to kill bacteria that living on the teats and goat udders. SCC was observed in the stable, while milking. the number of somatic cells and of bacteria of milk samples of 150 ml took into the cool-flask, and laboratory analysis was done. The results showed that there releathionship between somatic cell count, the number of bacteria and california mastitis milk tets in the detection of mastitis in PE goats. The average SCC of PE goats was 288.1 x 103 cells / ml with a range between 28.0 x 103 cells to 1991.7 x 103 cells / ml. The average number of bacteria in the milk of this study wss 537.9 x 103 cells / ml with a range between 66.5 x 103 and 2201 x 103 cells / ml milk. The average number of bacteria in the milk of this study was 537.9 x 103 cells / ml with a range between 66.5 x 103 and 2201 x 103 cells / ml milk. And the average score of CMT research was 2.34. In conclusion, the use of somatic cell counts, bacterial counts and California mastitis test in goat milk can be used for the detection of mastitis in P E goats

    Aktivitas Antibakterial Fungi Endofit Caulerpa Racemosa terhadap Bakteri Escherichia Coli dan Staphylococcus Aureus

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengisolasi fungi endofit dari Caulerpa racemosa yang berpotensi sebagai penghasil antibiotic dan (2) mengetahui aktivitas antibakterial fungi endofit Caulerpa racemosa terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2014. Sampel diperoleh dari desa Ujung Baji, Kec. Sanrobone, Kab. Takalar Sulawesi Selatan. Sampel diisolasi dan dipurifikasi pada medium PDA sampai diperoleh isolat murni. Isolat kemudian ditumbuhkan pada medium maltose yeast broth (MYB). Penentuan uji aktifitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar menurut Kirby Bauer. Analisis data dilakukan melalui pendekatan dekriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isolat fungi endofit mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus dengan diameter hambatan masing-masing sebesar 18,5 mm dan 18,35 mm.     Fifty Four birth goat were used to study the growth and body dimensions by response of giving PMSG at prior to mating. The experimental does were injected with pregnant mare serum gonadothrophin (PMSG), 0 IU/kg BW and 15 IU/kg BW. Intravaginal sponge (60 mg medroxyprogesterone acetate) was applied for 14 days to synchronize estrus cycle. Twenty four hours prior to sponge removal, PMSG was injected to stimulate PMSG, than, 5 does were mixed with 1 buck for natural mating. The results showed that administration of PMSG at prior to mating of the does can increase of the birth weight (p<0.01), weaning weight, body weight. Giving PMSG also increased body length at birth, body length at weaning and raising of body length (p<0.01). Giving PMSG increased shoulder height at birth, high shoulders weaned and raising of high shoulder weaning kid. Giving PMSG of the parent can increase the chest circumference at birth, chest circumference at weaning, and chest circumference of the offsprings (p<0.05). The experiment results indicated that PMSG at prior to mating increased birth weight and body dimensions, weight gain until weaning off significantly higher than goats without giving PMSG

    Jalan lingkar utara adalah daerah yang berjenis tanah rawa atau tanah lunak maka untuk melakukan perkuatan tanah tersebut maka digunakan geotextile dan cerucuk. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah mengetahui tinggi timbunan kritis pada badan jalan, mengetahui daya dukung tanah dengan menggunakan geotextile sebagai bahan pemisah dan cerucuk sebagai perkuatan, mengetahui penurunan yang terjadi pada timbunan badan jalan mengetahui faktor keamanan pada tanah lunak.Daya dukung tanah dikenalkan oleh Prandtl (1921) yang mengembangkan persamaan dari analisis kondisi aliran. Teori ini dikembangkan oleh Terzaghi (1943), Meyerhof (1955), Hansen (1970), Vesic (1975) dan lainnya. paham analisa perhitungan daya dukung tanah lempung dikembangkan para ahli tersebut mengasumsikan tanah lempung dalam keadaan tidak terganggu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis timbunan dapat perhitungan daya dukung tanah di titik lokasi perencanaan ada dua titik pengujian sondir yang berkisar antara. 0-150 kg/cm². Berdasarkan pengamatan di lapangan tinggi timbunan rencana 1.5 m dan perhitungan tinggi timbunan kritis adalah 1.40 m. Perhitungan beban (qo) tinggi timbunan rencana (Hr) = 1,5 m sebesar 3,30 t/m2 > sehingga diperlukan perkuatan dengan daya dukung tanah 8,4 t/m2.     The purpose of this study to reveal the resulting color dyeing silk using mahogany bark extract using a ratio much salt 10 grams, 30 grams and 60 grams, and the difference in outcomes dyeing (color, value, color and flatness). This type of research is experimental research. The variables of this study is the variable X as a control, the independent variables are X1, and Y variables dyeing color difference results (value and flatness of color). Types of data used are primary data. Sources of data in this study was a faculty department UNP KK FT 5 people and students by 5 people. Mechanical analysis of data processed and compiled, and analyzed by one-way analysis of variance. Processed using SPSS version 12.0. Based on the analysis of variance of data on the color (hue) colors obtained landing leads to Yellowish brown (Peru), with the addition of 10 grams of salt leads to a brown color (Chocolate), 30 grams of salt leads to a young brown color (Sienna), and 60 grams of salt leads to a young brown color (Sienna)

    Dark Matter Annihilation and the PAMELA, FERMI and ATIC Anomalies

    If dark matter (DM) annihilation accounts for the tantalizing excess of cosmic ray electron/positrons, as reported by the PAMELA, ATIC, HESS and FERMI observatories, then the implied annihilation cross section must be relatively large. This results, in the context of standard cosmological models, in very small relic DM abundances that are incompatible with astrophysical observations. We explore possible resolutions to this apparent conflict in terms of non-standard cosmological scenarios; plausibly allowing for large cross sections, while maintaining relic abundances in accord with current observations.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures; published for publication in Physical Review

    Riau Malay songket woven in Dumai City is a traditional cloth Melayu Riau Riau Malay cultural heritage. Current issues Malay songket weaving is not widely known outside the community of Riau, this study aimed to describe the Riau Malay songket woven In Kota Dumai which includes the type of thread, color, dye and dyeing yarnThe method used is descriptive qualitative method. Collecting data in this study is done by using observation, interviews and documentation. Source of data taken is shaped notes both written and non-written (recorded) derived from informants who were interviewed, documentation, literature study. Furthermore, the data reviewed and analyzed by the steps of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. Data validation was done with the extension of observation, increase persistence and triangulation.The results showed that the type of thread used to weave songket in Kota Dumai Riau Malay is cotton yarn (CSM) with an assortment of colors, embroidery thread and gold thread for motives. Riau Malay songket woven color in Dumai city which initially predominantly use original colors (red, yellow, green) has developed into unlimited colors, so that the use of color today are very diverse. Dyes used for dyeing yarn dye is artificial (synthetic). Substances in the form of powder or powder color is called dye procion. Natural dye is not used as a reason for the creation of a long natural dyes and natural dye material limitations that exist. The process of yarn dyeing yarn bleaching done in advance, after the bleached yarn dyeing yarn made into a synthetic dye.

    Pendugaan Keragaman Genetik dan Heritabilitas Jagung Hibrida Silang Puncak pada Perlakuan Cekaman Kekeringan

    Development of maize varieties tolerant to drought is very important to extensification program in dry maginal lands, especially outside Java. The research objective was to evaluate the agronomic performance, genetic variabilities and heritabilities of hybrid maize top crosses at Probolinggo and Gowa during dry season. A randomized complete block design with two replications was applied to each location. The combined analysis of variance showed that hybrid x location interaction was significant for harvesting date, corncob length, 1000 grain weight, and highly significant for flowering date, leaf curling, husk cover aspect, corncob aspect, plant harvested, weight of corncob harvested and grain yield. The genetic variance was considered broad for grain yield, weight of corncob harvested, shalling percentage, number of grain rows per corncob, and corncob aspect. Heritability values in combined location analysis were high for shalling percentage; medium for grain yield, weight of corncob harvested, shalling number of grain rows per corncob and corncob aspect; but for the other characteristics they were low. Low selection intensity (≥ 10%) can be applied in this generation (S2), but strong selection intensity (≥20%) can be applied in the next generation (≥S3)

    Cosmic Ray Physics with ACORDE at LHC

    The use of large underground high-energy physics experiments, for comic ray studies, have been used, in the past, at CERN, in order to measure, precisely, the inclusive cosmic ray flux in the energy range from 2x10^10 - 2x10^12 eV. ACORDE, ALICE Cosmic Rays DEtector, will act as Level 0 cosmic ray trigger and, together with other ALICE apparatus, will provide precise information on cosmic rays with primary energies around 10^15 - 10^17 eV. This paper reviews the main detector features, the present status, commissioning and integration with other apparatus.
